Learning Support

At Te Akatārere Woodlands School, we recognise that tamariki have different strengths, needs and pathways to success. We provide a range of classroom, targeted and individualised supports across learning, communication, behaviour, wellbeing, attendance and health. Our SENCo works alongside tamariki, teachers, whānau and specialist services to identify needs early, remove barriers and ensure every learner can participate, progress and thrive.

We use a Response to Intervention (RTI) approach to ensure tamariki receive the right level of support at the right time. All learners receive high-quality classroom teaching, with targeted small-group or individualised support added when needed. Progress is regularly reviewed, and support changes as each learner’s needs develop.
